Key Personnel
Paul Grimmer President |
Paul Grimmer brings more than 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry to his leadership role as President of Eltron Water Systems. Throughout his career, he has combined his engineering expertise with the ability to identify promising technologies, and then guided the development of those technologies to commercial success. As President of Conoco Gas Solutions, he grew the “gas solutions” business within the company from its inception into a program that generated $100,000,000 annually, with a staff of more than 240 people. While focused on Fischer-Tropsch gas-to-liquid processes, Grimmer’s team also developed novel technologies for synthesis gas generation, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and product upgrading. Their efforts resulted in a 400 barrel per day demonstration plant, the 3rd largest gas-to-liquid plant in the world. In 2005, Grimmer became the owner and President of Eltron Research & Development, which engages in research and development in energy, chemicals and chemical processing, advanced materials, environment and sensor technologies for industry and various federal agencies. As part of his vision for commercializing the wealth of intellectual property amassed by the company during its 25 years of research, Grimmer launched Eltron Water Systems LLC in 2007 in order to bring new water treatment and related technologies to market. |

Chris Burk Process Engineer |
Chris Burk’s responsibilities included the design, construction commissioning of both research and pilot scale chemical systems. Also, he develops process and economics models for many systems and uses them to determine optimum operating points, perform sensitivity analyses, and assess their economic viability. Specific projects have included the development of a novel fuel reformer for the conversion of diesel fuel into synthesis gas for use in solid oxide fuel cells, the development of an electrochemical reactor system for the on-site generation of hydrogen peroxide, and the development of an electrowinning system for the removal of metals from acid mine drainage. Before joining Eltron, Chris worked as a research engineer with Supresta, LLC in Ardsley, NY. He studied chemical engineering at Cornell University, receiving his bachelors and his masters of engineering degrees. As a graduate student Chris researched the self-assembly of block co-polymer/ceramic hybrid materials related to fuel cells. |
Andy Del Negro Technical Consultant |
Dr. Del Negro received his PhD under Professor B. Patrick Sullivan at the University of Wyoming where his research focused primarily on the synthesis and photophysical studies of Re(I)-based oligomeric excited states for photocatalyic and solar energy related applications. After a post-doctoral appointment at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, he was hired on as a staff scientist to continue his work designing and synthesizing photoactive and electroactive membranes for the selective uptake and electrochemical conversion of technetium compounds in contaminated groundwater. Dr. Del Negro joined Eltron Water Systems in 2007 and focused on the development of electrocatalytic processes for on-site production of hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid as well as the continued development of other technologies involving water purification and disinfection. Dr. Del Negro transitioned to Eltron Research and Development in 2010 and has been contributing to the development and commercialization of Eltron’s hydrogen selective membranes. |
